Content Protection for Pay-TV Content on Portable Devices

How? It integrates with major CE device chipsets so that subscribers can shift content to their Portable Media Players (PMPs), one of the fastest growing CE devices.

Because they feature a variety of disk sizes and controls, PMPs are literally portable DVRs that allow consumers to watch their content anywhere and anytime.

VideoGuard PMP is a content protection solution that provides pay-TV service providers with the service they need to enable subscribers to watch content on their PMPs that has either been downloaded directly from STBs, DVRs and PCs, or transferred from other CE devices using wired or wireless connectivity.

It uses a USB 2.0 or Bluetooth connection so that consumers can easily transfer content to their PMP. Security embedded in the CE device checks usage rights and decrypts the content for viewing.

Major CE device manufacturers have already embedded VideoGuard PMP in their devices to support secured content transfer and storage.

Seamless content acquisition

To achieve seamless content acquisition, VideoGuard PMP includes two security profiles:

• Content delivery and protection of recorded content from the STB/DVR or PC. This profile transfers content as well as usage rules and licenses.
• Multimode Broadcast DRM client for mobile broadcasting networks such as DVB-H, T-DMB, and WiMax.
